Diversity drives stability for Waiboys Plumbing

In April 2025, Baden Coleman and Greg Edge took a bold step, purchasing Aquaholics Hamilton from its founding shareholders and relaunching the business under a new name – Waiboys Plumbing.

Taking ownership in the midst of economic uncertainty was no small move, but Baden and Greg backed themselves. Both are professional plumbers with many years of experience in the local market. It gave them the confidence to move ahead and step confidently into a new era of independence by rebranding and redefining their direction.

What they’ve discovered along the way is the power of diversity – both in workload and client base.

While maintaining a secure, large-scale commercial project with Summerset Cambridge’s Regional Main Building they have also diversified into a range of other projects across the Waikato. Their growing impact in the region proves their decision to take the leap was the right one.

A particularly timely partnership has developed with Leisurecom Homes, a Cambridge-based company specialising in transportable homes – from baches and farmhouses to offices.

“Partnering with Leisurecom has been a real win,” says Baden. “Their team is fantastic to work with – well organised, great communicators, and genuinely professional in everything they do.”

The relationship has provided Waiboys with consistent, high-quality work in a controlled, undercover environment, allowing for steady workflow, strong collaboration, and mutual respect between teams.

“With Leisurecom, everything runs smoothly,” Baden adds. “Their scheduling and site coordination make our job easier, and the communication is always clear. It’s the kind of partnership every trade business hopes for.”

With two dedicated teammembers handling this ongoing workstream, Waiboys Plumbing has been able to stabilise operations, plan ahead, and free up management time to focus on business growth and strategy.

For Baden and Greg, the experience reinforces a key lesson: in times of uncertainty, diversity in clients and projects – and working with quality partners – provides one of the strongest foundations a business can have.

Achieving that diversity has been no accident. It takes commitment to build the solid working relationships and reputation that are so essential to business success. Waiboys Plumbing demonstrate their commitment every day in the quality work they do, tackling every job with the same care, attention to detail, and focus on lasting results.
