This summer, Waiboys Plumbing proudly hosted the 2024 Summer 20/20 Cricket Invitational, bringing together mates, local businesses, and a whole lot of community spirit at Innes Common on the edge of Hamilton Lake. What began as a friendly idea quickly grew into a full event, complete with great competition, sunshine, and plenty of laughs both on and off the pitch.
We were thrilled to welcome a lineup of true local legends: Complete Flooring, Lyndon Jones Electrical, Fosters Construction, and iLine Construction. Each team brought strong energy, big hits, and even bigger banter, making for a memorable day of cricket that showcased not only skill but the amazing camaraderie within our local trade community.
The invitational was all about celebrating summer, supporting local businesses, and giving everyone a chance to connect outside of the usual day-to-day grind. From quick singles to towering sixes, tight bowling spells to a few questionable dives in the outfield, the day had everything we hoped it would.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, played hard, and contributed to the awesome atmosphere. Waiboys is already looking forward to making the invitational an annual highlight on the community calendar.
